Motorsports, located in Indianapolis, Indiana was
established in 1987. Dedicated to crafting high quality original
car designs for Formula V and Formula First series. Dunlap
Motorsports also provides trackside support for CART, IRL,
Vintage and SCCA Pro events. Design, fabrication and
installation for closed, open-wheeled and vintage racers for the
professional or amateur racer is our business. |

Formula
First Series / Formula V
|
| The
Dunlap Motorsports Wasp is a purpose-built car designed to
compete in the Formula First Class. It does not replace the
Formula V. A Formula First car is ineligible for Formula
V. Suspension, steering, engine, brakes, and other components
are not interchangeable with the Formula V car. Formula First is
a class for single seat racing cars based on components from the
standard Volkswagen air-cooled engine Types 1-3 U.S. model
sedan, as originally manufactured and imported by Volkswagen
from 1961 to 1974. The purpose of the Formula First class is to
emphasize driver ability and to encourage the participation of
owner/builders and owner/preparers while using proven Volkswagen
components.
Dunlap Motorsports also produces an original
state-of-the-art SCCA Formula V racer. This model has specific
aerodynamic suspension and safety features.
